I know you are scared to try again, but if you want that HT feature, i saw a bios update that enables that feature by default (because it's disabled by default). If the date and time wander off greatly, suspect a circuit fault that does not provide proper voltage to the BIOS circuit. You should get that backup .ROM file created by asus update. Power supplies can cause some wierd problems too.
