Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... lens got stuck and wouldn't retract. patience is needed, and sometimes i can't do it unless i'm sitting on a desk with a flat surface. Number 4 half worked for me, it would allow it to come on and take photos, but it would still make horrible clanky noises and it can't focus...
