I dropped my Nikon Coolpix P2 while it was on, and got the dreaded Lens Error. When you looked at it the lens "hole" was sideways and it would not retract completely inside the camera. Loading...Oops :Please try again. Thanks for this resource.
Lift up the lever on the connector to free the ribbon cable. Twisting the next 'cap-ring' (round with the semi rectangular opening in the center) counterclockwise released it and exposed the two lens covering flaps. Then it shut off, and I couldn't even access the 'review' feature to see the photos I had just taken! Thank you for the info.
Hi, I write you from Argentina. I finally fixed it by holding the "OK" button and turning the camera on. You have nothing to lose.... Other manufacturers might have a different name for the same problem (lens error, access error, zoom error, lens obstructed, focus error...). Have updated the posting as suggested. Thanks for putting this together. Now that's a first.
