They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try. Used technique 7 in the write-up and it worked! tried different settings , no change. Please help! We knew that there wasn't much we could do to hurt the camera, since if our attempts failed, the camera was toast anyway. After removing the batteries and SD card and letting the camera sit overnight, I replaced the batteries and card in the morning. My three-month old Canon Powershot SX100IS had this error. I was taking picture of pictures i had to draw for a class. I had to use a disposable for the rest of my trip because we were remote. click site i plugged it into my computer and its working now...
Please don't blame me if instead undesirable results occur. It is always stored in a case. Thank you for the tips; I'll get another couple of years of this little camera yet. Maybe that will let you get under whatever gigantic clod of grit is wedging the lens tight.
The camera looks perfectly fine except for the lens cover. I finally got got feed up and really whacked it on the edge of my desk on the usb port.. Couldn't have asked for more. and low and behold, as if by magic, I was shooting!
Used paper around the lens, no joy. fixed it by rapping the camera on the table using the padded USB port. I have a GE A730 that was giving a Lens Error message after being in my pocket (probably accidently hit the powerbutton and the camera freaked when it tried to extend I finally fixed it by holding the "OK" button and turning the camera on.
