Thanks! I took one flap out to have an intact one left to compare too. Sand, gunk, case fibers, etc... Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable NiMH 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on.

I have the Kodak M753 and had actually tried step 7 in despiration but to no avail before I found your blog. My co-worker and I spent about 30 minutes this morning trying all 7 of the fixes on your list, to no avail. Then I restarted the camera and it worked properly. I will tell you that...the things you have to go through to be an Expert are quite rigorous.
