These materials love to cling to the camera by electrostatic build-up from the camera rubbing against the side of the case (especially those cases with soft fibrous intreriors). I put the screw back and the camera works like a charm. It still makes me rather concerned... About a week ago, I went on a trip, took pictures the whole trip, everything was ok.
