Question about Canon PowerShot Digital Cameras 1 Answer Memory card error Memory card error For no reason whatsoever (didn't drop the camera or anything like that), I started getting 'memory card I don't want to reformat the card as it'll wipe it. Thank you so much for the useful advice. I only had the battery out for about 5 minutes, fitted the casing back together and *touch wood* it's working as new, and i can get my pictues back!
The battery popped out really easily with a small flat screwdriver. They all say memory card error and on the bottom of the screen it says card locked. In the store they first tested everything:filetype card, status card, tested with a new card. my review here even though camera is outdated and secondhand it takes good pics didnt want to have to get new one as spare batteries and cards no good in latest cameras. I've tried formatting with the slide in both locked and unlocked positions. One slight problem with the reassembly when a reasonably complex plastic piece dropped out and for the life of me I couldn't determine where it came from - its fully functional Turn on the camera (you'll probably get the usual error message again). Opted for the DIY version after experiencing one of the typical service line situations. I bought also a 4 GB card.

It's otherwise a very nice camera.
